I've lived in a snow-bound one-room schoolhouse heated only by firewood I chopped myself, and helped build a full-size working stagecoach. I've also led colour strategy for one of the most recognizable shoes on the planet. Same commitment, same eye, different scale.
Design director, senior colour designer, trend researcher, lifelong maker.
Still curious. Still building.
The Journey
Rooted in Craft
A decade in bespoke fine furniture, running my own studio and teaching others to design and build, taught me what I still lean on today: storytelling through design, mentoring, understanding what someone wants, and designing something they truly fall for.
Design for All
Curiosity - what’s it like designing for millions instead of one? - took me to Nike, then Reebok, then Converse, where I dug in. I grew from colour designer to manager to director of the kids category, adding materials, trims, pattern and footwear design along the way, leading with clarity, honesty, and care for my teams.
Beyond The Resume
Gold-leafing signs. Building a teardrop trailer from the chassis up. A wrap-around porch. Danish cord-weaving. Making things is just what I do.
In fact, I’ve just taken the last year to focus on renovating a century home in NDG, building features like micro-cement counters and a custom cedar sauna, while also taking time to serve my community, for instance as an acting member of the Governor's Board for Hampstead Elementary.
Making and community shape how I lead: patient, down-to-earth, collaborative and committed.
